Prop 8 Trial Update – Lawyers Go After Motives




Part of the strategy of the legal team working in court in San Francisco is to show that the Prop 8 campaign and those behind it were motivated by an animosity and even hatred of gays. They made this perfectly clear today (Wednesday) when the confronted Hak-Shing William Tam, a defendant in the case, regarding statements he’s made about gays wanting to make it legal to have sex with children.

SAN FRANCISCO — A proponent of California’s same-sex marriage ban warned voters during the 2008 campaign that gay rights activists would try to legalize sex with children if same-sex couples had the right to wed, according to evidence presented Wednesday in a lawsuit seeking to overturn the measure.

The taped statements were made by San Francisco resident Hak-Shing William Tam, a defendant in the federal case.
