While making a speech tonight in Los Angeles in support of Barbara Boxer, President Barack Obama was shouted down by a group of LGBT activists, organized through GetEqual.org. Several times, the President stopped to respond to those shouting out, at one point asking them if they’d like to come up to the platform to speak. The protest was for the repeal of Don’t Ask Don’t Tell and equal rights for LGBT Americans. The President responded with various comments, regularly reminding those present that both he and Boxer agreed with them, that the work has already begun on those issues, and that they might be better served by shouting at those that disagreed with their stand, adding at the end that Barbara Boxer didn’t even vote for DADT.
