An Indiana pizza shop that came under fire after suggesting that they’d refuse to cater a gay wedding has now raised more than $800,000 by online supporters in just one day’s time.
The astonishing haul pulled in for Memories Pizza in Walkteron comes after its owners said they’ve closed indefinitely following violent threats against their lives and business and they’ve now gone into hiding.
Co-owner Crystal O’Connor had expressed support for a new Indiana religious objections law which, before its recent amendment, would have allowed them to deny gay customers by religious beliefs.
Now a booming GoFundMe account created for the business Wednesday states its aim as, “To relieve the financial loss endured by the proprietors’ stand for faith.”
