In recognition of World AIDS Day, students from the Schools of Public Health and Social Work Education have been working on brief presentations reflecting on the roles social work and public health have played in the history of the HIV/AIDS epidemic as well as what the future roles will be for both disciplines. These students have worked so hard and none of them were born when the AIDS epidemic began but they have learn of the history and are comitted to educating and informing their peers and the community. This event is free and opened to the public.

To conclude World AIDS Day 2013 observances, three sections of the AIDS Memorial Quilt will be on display at the Painted Table on Thursday, December 5, from 5:00 pm – 8:00 pm. The quilt sections will be displayed as part of an event which will include a historical review in photos of the first three decades of the HIV/AIDS timeline. The event is free and open to the public. In addition to the evening event times, lunch time viewing hours have been added from 11:00 am – 2:00 pm. This event is hosted by the Community Action Council’s World AIDS Day Planning Committee.
