Dec. 5: Voices in Exile: Stories of Lesbian Mormons. This documentary by Sue Randall, tells the story of 8 LDS women, all with deep roots in the church, as they deal with coming out to the world and the church. According to the filmmaker, the women face "exile from their families and communities and . . . are brave enough to talk about it. For every woman I asked to be in the film, one agreed and one didn’t agree because it’s very frightening." Shot entirely in Eastern Idaho, this film is filled with teas, laughter and religious realizations. 49 min.
Post screening discussants: Dr. Elizabeth Swearingen & Dr. Kathy Adams. Cineculture Club promotes cultural awareness through film and post-screening discussions.
