In a devastating loss for the LGBTQ community, beloved actor, comedian, and gay icon Leslie Jordan has died at the age of 67. Leslie was famous for his work on popular TV shows like “Will & Grace,” “Hearts Afire,” “The Cool Kids,” “Call Me Kat” and “American Horror Story.”
TMZ broke the news Monday morning. Law enforcement sources say that Jordan crashed his vehicle into a building in Hollywood after reportedly suffering from “some sort of medical emergency.” Sources close to the late actor tell us Leslie was scheduled to film for “Call Me Kat” Monday morning, but people working on the show became concerned when Leslie hadn’t arrived more than an hour after his call time.
Sources tell TMZ … for the last 3 weeks, he was experiencing shortness of breath. We’re told Leslie was scheduled to see a cardiologist within the next week to check out his heart, and see if there were any underlying health issues.
Leslie Jordan was born in Memphis Tennessee and raised in Arkansas. He was an actor, comedian, and author. He is best known for his role as Beverly Leslie on the hit TV show Will & Grace and as the voice of Nigel Thornberry on the animated TV show SpongeBob SquarePants. He moved to Dallas, Texas, at age 15 with his older sister Charlene after her marriage fell apart. Jordan graduated from Duncanville High School in 1979 and attended Southern Methodist University before dropping out during his sophomore year.
