It is with great sadness that we share the news of beloved community member Ron Wilson’s passing. The following was written by Peter Robertson:
My longtime mentor and a dear friend of our community, Ron Wilson, passed away peacefully last night at Hinds Hospice Home. He was 69 years old. I was fortunate and blessed to be by his side at the time.
He was a tireless volunteer and benefactor of many local causes including the Fresno Reel Pride Film Festival and the no-longer-active Central California Alliance. He was named a Legacy Donor by the Fresno State Alumni Association for his support of the Bulldog Pride Scholarship Fund in 2013. He was also bestowed the honorary title Director Emeritus by the Fresno Reel Pride Board of Directors at its 25th Annual Film Festival in 2015.
Wilson was preceded in death by his longtime partner, Dan Jackson. A memorial service is being planned for the future.
You shall be missed, my dear friend. Rest in peace.
