Following are the links and information for the California LGBT Community Centers we visited this week. We plan to visit more California LGBT Centers in the future.

We were inspired by all of them and are already discussing the ways we can implement many of the ideas they shared with us during the trip.

Stanislaus Pride Center – Modesto
The Stanislaus PRIDE Center (SPC) was founded in 2005 to provide resources to strengthen and support gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgendered persons in the Stanislaus and surrounding counties.
Sacramento Gay & Lesbian Center
The Sacramento Gay & Lesbian Center is dedicated to serving the lesbian, gay, transgender, and bisexual community of the Greater Sacramento area and surrounding counties and its allies by providing space, diverse programming, advocacy, and cultural competency awareness in an affirming, compassionate and safe environment.
Rainbow Community Center – Concord, CA
The Rainbow Community Center (RCC) is the only organization in Contra Costa County that is solely focused on serving the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer/questioning (LGBTQ) community; our current priorities are to build services for LGBT youth, seniors, people living with HIV/AIDS and to develop community building efforts that will diminish the sense of isolation and promote greater acceptance of all LGBTQ people.
Our goal is to provide a safe, supportive and respectful environment for LGBTQ people of all ages, socio-economic status, races, cultures and religions. We strive to create services and activities that will promote the mental, physical and spiritual well-being of our community by providing professional services, peer support, referral services, social opportunities and educational programs of interest to our community as well as to the community at large.
Billy DeFrank Center – San Jose
The Billy DeFrank Community Center strives to be the community’s premier resource hub and a recognized leader in promoting health, strength, diversity and inclusiveness. Through collaboration and unity, our center provides a diverse platform for our community to meet, learn, be challenged and grow.
