Last month I went off on GLAAD for going nuts over the use of the word faggot on an episode of GLEE. Even in their written discussion of the matter the word faggot was never printed, but rather censored with asterisks, just as other words like dyke were.
This is clearly nuts. It’s one thing to restrict the use of the word in schools, where bullying is a very real issue, but to censor the language for adults is idiotic.
Now comes more proof of just how ridiculous GLAAD behaved as well as a whole group of LGBT Americans who quickly jumped on the bandwagon to support censorship rather than address the SPECIFIC problem apparent at schools. And let me add, that saying “the f word” instead of saying faggot is also ridiculous.

Not only does this fashion designer proudly use the word, putting it out there to both make a declaration of power as well as one about prejudice, but the proceeds are donated to The Trevor Project, the very group working every day to help teens get past thought of suicide.
I’d love to see what GLAAD has to say about that…
