Attorney Ted Olson, who, with David Boies, helmed the California Prop 8 case, has commented on the Obama administration appealing the federal ruling which declared Don’t Ask Don’t Tell to be unconstitutional. Olson said, “It would be appropriate for them to say ‘the law has been deemed unconstitutional, we are not going to seek further review of that.’”
Valerie Jarret, White House Senior Advisor, said on CNN that it was the duty of the Justice Dept to defend all laws in matters such as these, but added that Obama is still against DADT and vows to end it on his watch.
