Stephen Hawking has issued a newly declarative statement as to the origins of the universe, and to put it simply, creation doesn’t need a creator. While in previous books, Hawking has made statement suggesting there are ways to better understand God, he has now made it clear that God does not need to included to understand the origins of the universe. This is yet another step in the ever growing movement in the world to abandon the mythology that is religion and face our problems with rationality and reason, rather than fantasy.
"Because there is a law such as gravity, the Universe can and will create itself from nothing," the excerpt says. "Spontaneous creation is the reason there is something rather than nothing, why the Universe exists, why we exist. It is not necessary to invoke God to … set the Universe going."
